Lewes 4th of July Festivities 1

Every year for the 4th of July, the City of LewesLewes Chamber of Commerce and Lightship Overfalls host an “Old Fashioned 4th of July” celebration.  This year the event will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., so mark your calendar for the following events:

  • 9:00 a.m. – Old-fashioned children’s games and activities on Second Street
  • 2:00 p.m. – Decorated boat parade on the Lewes Canal
  • 5:00 p.m.-ish (according to the official Lewes Chamber website) – Doo Dah Parade begins on Manila Street, just off Savannah, across from Beebe Medical Center

If you are looking for fireworks, that will require a trip into Rehoboth Beach, where they have an annual display produced by Zambelli International.  For more details, visit the Rehoboth Beach Main Street website.  We would strongly suggest getting into Rehoboth early or taking the shuttles provided to enter and leave the city as it will be very crowded!
