Thursday, December 5, 5:30-6pm – 18th Annual Beebe Holiday of Lights
- Event will be held on the lawn of Beebe Healthcare, 424 Savannah Road. Following the tree lighting, refreshments will be served and Santa Claus will make a special appearance.
Thursday, December 5, 6-9pm – Lewes Merchants’ Annual Hospitality Night
- This annual event is held in the historic commercial district surrounding Second Street in Lewes. Shop ’til you drop, meet up with old friends, dance to the music, and enjoy complimentary light refreshments provided by our local businesses. A perfect opportunity for all of us to purchase gifts and help keep downtown Lewes vibrant.
Friday, December 6, 6-9pm – Opening Reception of the Holiday Art Show & Sale

Saturday, December 7, 10-4pm – The Lewes Historical Society’s 40th Annual Lewes Christmas Tour
- Get to see your neighbors’ homes, other historic houses in Lewes, and the historic buildings at the Lewes Historical Society Complex at 2nd and Shipcarpenter Streets. Volunteers from the Historic Lewes Farmers Market will be docents at a very special home on Second Street. Purchase your tickets to see which one! All will be splendidly decorated with holiday cheer. Tickets can be also be purchased in Lewes at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Zwaanendael Museum (both on Kings Highway), Community Bank Delaware and Habersham Peddlers or at The Inn at Canal Square. Saturday, December 7, 5-7pm – Lewes Hometown Christmas Parade
- Tree-lighting and Caroling. Clap your hands to the music and cheer for the floats, marchers, cars, dogs and an array of other participants in this time-honored tradition in Lewes. After the parade, wander over to Zwaanendael Park for the tree-lighting and caroling lead by Christy Taylor’s music students. A wonderful way to start off the holiday season. December 14, 2013, 4pm – Southern Delaware Choral Society performs Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at Cape Henlopen High School
- A dinner celebrating the Choral Society’s 25th official anniversary will be held at The Buttery Restaurant in Lewes following the concert. Tickets for the concert are available at Puzzles on Front Street and reservations for dinner can be made by calling The Buttery, at 645-7755. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to SDCS.
December 22, 2013, 3pm – The Southern Delaware Choral Society invites you to attend a Messiah Sing-along to be held at Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes
- Scores will be available at the door if you don’t have your own. Come bring your own voice and ears and join in the spirit of the season! A small donation to cover expenses is requested.
